Yesterday a famous football player came to our school. His name was D.D. Lewis. He played for the Dallas Cowboys for twelve years. Later he started teaching us about fertilizers. Today we have Music class and French class. We are rehearsing for a French play and presentation on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. This play and presentation will be about Christmas in France. This program will start at 10:20 a.m. We also started a new book on Monday. It is called A Christmas Carol. It is about a grouchy old man named Scrooge. He doesn't like Christmas. The ghost of Jacob Marley, Scrooge's dead business partner, tells Scrooge that he will be visited by three ghosts. The ghost of Christmas past, present, and future. Scrooge learns to be nicer toward the end of the story.

Today we are getting back from Thanksgiving break. Everybody has been eating, hunting, and resting, but today we all had to get up early and come to school. Over my Thanksgiving break I played with all of my cousins and hunted. Then after I did that I finally got time to dig in to my Nana's chocolate pie. Her chocolate pie is very good, but this year she decided to try a different kind of pie it is called lemon pie. Now it is on my list of favorites along with her chocolate pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie. We got my Aunt Meadow to taste test and she said that it was the best lemon pie she had ever tasted. My Great Aunt tried to make a pecan pie all though it didn't taste the best its the thought that counts.

D.D. Lewis

Tomorrow, D.D. Lewis is coming to SA to speak to our 4th through 12th graders. We are very excited to see him. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and earned several Super Bowl rings!

The Nor'easter

Last week starting Thursday we were hit by a Nor'easter. It effected us with flooding, heavy rain, and strong winds. About an hour away from us in Norfolk, VA over 200 people had to be evacuated from their homes and apartments. A famous landmark destroyed by this Nor'easter was the Lynnhaven Pier. Due to the impact on our town, we didn't have school Thursday or Friday. On Saturday my friend and I went to a college football game. When we got out of the car we could see where the water had been. Everything around the school was wet and swampy. This storm had a major impact on our region. -MLT

The way it is written is so you think Anne Sullivan wrote it, about the struggles and the good times she had with Helen Keller. The book is called Reaching Out To Helen Keller. I highly recommend people to read that book. The next book I will be reading is a Nancy Drew book; I hope it will be as good as my last book!
